5 Jahre Leben is a featurefilm project I worked on during my studies at the Filmakademie. It tells the story about how Murat Kurnaz ended up in Guantanamo Bay. This project was the award-winning debut film of director Stefan Schaller and the vfx supervisoin was done by my mate Martin Grötzinger.

I was involved in the compositing department doing setextensions (for example the shot you see above). Furthermore I build a keying-setup to get through the massive ammount of greenscrren footage of soldiers to populate the whole movie. (A little fun-fact on the side: vfx supe martin is hidden in one of the shots…)

All in all it’s a pretty intense movie. Give it a watch if you have the chance to see it.
