Hi, I’m Carl. I love movies and tech.
I’m a sr. compositor from Germany
living in beautiful Vancouver.

Welcome to my site! Here I try to document my journey in VFX, projects I worked on through the years and some cool stuff in between. Feel free to explore or drop me a line. If you’re in a rush you can jump straight ahead from here:

I WORK ON COOL SH*T EVERYDAY

Who doesn’t like movies? Or short films, game cinematics, episodic TV series or even commercials (the good ones)? I do and I worked in all those fields before. Below you can check out a few of my most recent projects.

♡ WHAT I DO

COMPOSITING

By far the best part of the job is to craft the finished frame you see on screen. It’s a fantastic mix between art and creative problem-solving. Interacting with almost every upstream department and combining all elements into a seamless and  believable picture is a very rewarding task.

SCRIPTING

Building tools, templates and gizmos is a big part of why enjoy my job so much. It represents my technical side and is balancing out the artistic aspects perfectly. While making my job easier, it let’s me help others at the same time! Also it encourages me to keep learning constantly.

PIPELINE

It’s a great feeling to be involved in something that is bigger than the sum of it’s parts. Making movies is a massive team effort that requires hard word and often long hours. But seeing something on screen, something that you helped creating – makes the process more than worth it.

Got Questions Or Ideas?Let Me Know!

WHERE I’VE BEEN WHY

I’ve had the opportunity to work with several of the coolest companies on the planet. But even more importantly: I feel very fortunate to collaborate with exceptional teams comprised of top-tier artists, technicians, and producers in the industry, some of whom have become close friends along the way. So far my journey took me to 5 cities in 3 countries across 2 continents.

While the job of a compositor / comp-td is comparable between companies, every one of my career-steps has been special in its own right and I wouldn’t want to miss a single one.
